Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) is a core department of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Nagpur (IIITN) established in 2016. It is currently headed by Dr. Mayur R. Parate.
ECE department facilitates B-Tech Undergraduate program, PGDPM & M-Tech. (only for Army personnel), and Ph.D. Currently, more than 360 students are enrolled in B-Tech Undergraduate, more than 140 students are enrolled in PGDPM & M-Tech.
The Ph.D. program was introduced in 2018 under Visveswaraya Scheme (under MeitY) and currently more than 70 scholars are being benefited from this program.
At IIIT ECE Department, we encourage innovation. We continuously put forth valuable efforts to provide the latest and state-of-the-art curriculum that finds applications in the industries. The department is equipped with advanced experimental labs that support technologies and platforms along with high-end computational facilities. The infrastructure and lab facilities are upgraded from time to time and provide adequate opportunities for students and researchers to learn and innovate.Weendeavor to arm the students to be industry-ready with comprehensive practical as well as theoretical knowledge.
The department is favoured with proficient Faculty, all holding Ph.D. degrees from renowned institutes across India having specialization in the various areas. The department has contributed more than 5 patents, 5 research and consultancy projects, and more than 115 research publications. Moreover, the department has also received a research grant summing to Rs.85 lacs.
